A great version of a great song. June 5, 2010 M. TAYLOR 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this song as a free download from Amazon. It convinced me to purchase the re issue of Exile On Main Street. I guess that was the reason for giving it away free at the time. That said I would have paid whatever it takes to get this version of this great song. It seems to be of a greater pace than the version that made it to the LP, and at the moment I prefer it. I would urge you to purchase or download this song, and get the re issued LP, some of the previously un issued songs are excellent, far superior to anything else that will be released this year, or anything that has been released for many many years. Exile On Main Street is the sound of The Rolling Stones at their very best, they have never sounded better, in fact nobody else has ever come close to sounding this good, and this version of All Down The Line is a fine taster for what to expect.
its the stones June 17, 2010 S. hooper fab track as expected-and free which is something the big stars forget to give fans occassionally---everything thats good is here...
Its the Stones! June 15, 2010 Mr. S. J. Earl (Gloucester, UK) "Exile" is one the best albums ever made, so any kind of alternate version, take or out-take has got to be worth a listen. And this is great!
Had to buy the album again and the new stuff is well worth it....not upto inclusion on the original album. But it is the Stones at their peak! I love it!
Stoned June 6, 2010 J. Hendricks (UK) The Rolling Stones are my era, They can do no wrong
I think it's amazing that they can still produce good stuff after all these years.
Brilliant.
So irritating!!! May 10, 2010 Toxic Excess (Chicago, Illinois) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm really quite upset by this - why are the Stones (or Amazon.co.uk) making this available only to people in the United Kingdom? I'm in hopes it will eventually be posted stateside, too, but I ordered the expanded re-release of Exile on Main St two months ago and evidently this version will not be on it! Why?? I'm a bit of a "completist" and was thrilled to find this was available for free download. However, when I went to get it, I was told there were "geographic restrictions" on the download. Does this mean I'll never be able to put it on my iPod? Really quite upsetting.... Can someone help me here? The version sounds wonderful (I've heard it on YouTube now) and would like to have it for my own.
