| Customer Reviews: Useful Guide to Borneo July 22, 2010 L. Montgomery (Doncaster England) We are planning a 'DIY' trip to Borneo, and this useful guide has given us the confidence to organise it ourselves, without relying on a travel agent.
The book is divided into geographical sections with useful web addresses and hotel details. We particularly like the 'getting there and away' section to help with planning transfers from travel hubs to accomodation.
Good detailed guide to Borneo January 29, 2009 B. W. Horton (Hampshire, England) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Having already been to Borneo, we bought this guide for our nephew who is going there this summer. We looked at a few specific reports on areas that we had enjoyed as we knew our own opinions(!)and found the reports to be accurate and updated from the time that we were there.
Covers a wide variety of areas July 21, 2010 Kirsty This book seems to be good, albeit recently discovering I need to complete a dive course before enjoy all that Borneo has to offer. I'm sure when the time comes to visit the island the book will come in very handy.
Standard travel guide October 26, 2009 Nicola (London) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I usually prefer Lonely planet guides rather than its competitors, though they do vary depending on the writer.
I only went to the Sabah region of Borneo so most of the book was not relevant to me but the section on Sabah was good enough for my purposes.
To get to Borneo you do usually have to go via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. There is a very brief section on these two cities but I ended up having to take a separeate book on KL with me. So a few more pages about these two places would be really useful in the book.
BORNEO - essential pre-visit reading January 10, 2010 M. MASON (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
With plans to visit Borneo this year, we researched different publications which would help us best enjoy our visit. Lonely Planet guides have been helpful & informative on previous trips to other locations, & we anticipate no less with this one. Although its worth can only be proven upon our return, we expect this will highlight the "must-see's" to enable us to gain maximum benefit from our travels in Borneo.Borneo (Lonely Planet Country & Regional Guides)
