Just buy this book, you won't regret it! July 10, 2009 S. Bruch (Llanelli) 34 out of 39 found this review helpful
I've just finished this book and all i want to do is start it all over again! I sat down with this book and hardly put it down, except to sleep, i even read it while eating! It has everything a good book needs, fantastic characters, two love stories, mysteries, family drama and the perfect ending. Each character is so well written that they all remain in your mind clearly afterwards. There are loads of historically interesting and accurate details given to the reader by Sadie. This is one book i'm definitely recommending to every female member of my family and friends.
One of Kinsella's best books January 5, 2010 Babeborre (Denmark) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just love this book. Since the Shopaholic books Kinsella's books havn't been the best, but I think this one is one of her best books so far. It funny, lovely, has a great plot, and I just couldn't put the book down. It just makes you smile. To be honest I were a bit sceptical about this book as it could have been just a copycat of some of Cecilia Ahern's books, but it's not. If you a looking for a sweet story this is what you're looking for. ENJOY!
Fantastic! December 21, 2009 Ms. C. M. Alesbrook (Leicestershire, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was one of those books that you're desperate to finish as it's so good you want to see how it will end, but you don't want it to end as it's so good and you're enjoying it! Well written, funny, emotional, just brilliant! It encompasses friendship, romance, work, family, everything! I went for an early night and ended up putting the book down 2 and a half hours later as I was so absorbed. I can't recommend it enough. Another brilliant offering from Sophie Kinsella.
Another winner from Sophie Kinsella September 17, 2009 Debbie King (Durham City, Co Durham United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have read all of Sophie Kinsella's books and enjoyed every one of them. "Twenties Girl" is another winner, a little different from Kinsella's usual style and characters but extremely enjoyable for it.
It is laugh-out-loud funny in some parts, completely surreal in others and still in other parts quite sad. I was almost in tears near the end!
It also gives an interesting look at the fashions and fads of the 1920s Flapper girls, and there is a particularly poignant scene in an old people's home where Lara, the story's main protagonist, realises that all the elderly residents were once young, vibrant, beautiful people with lives and loves of their own.
Altogether a lovely, funny, heartwarming read. Highly recommended.
