This is an excellent little gadget. I read the reviews on Amazon of the older model and was concerned about comments that the temperature reading was not that accurate. I took the gamble that this issue would have been resolved in the updated model and am glad to say I have been proven correct. I have tested the temperature against several themometers I have and they all consistentantly measure within 0.2degrees of each other. Would definately recommend this model if you are after this kind of product.

I really love this product. It is easy to see at a glance if the room is cool, just right, warm or too hot.
I was considering using the thermometer on my baby monitor, but found that the gro-egg was MUCH easier to read in a dark room or from a distance. I don't even have to enter the nursery now to check the temperature - I can tell from the doorway! Highly recommended - well done gro company!

I was looking for a thermometer for the nursey and came accross this item. After reading lot's of reviews I decided that I wanted to get one and try it out for myself. It is a little smaller than I thought it would be but if you think most wall ones would be quite small anyway. We tried it out straight away and it seems to be the same temp as our central heating. I think some of the reviews you read are crossing over from the older version of this which is the gro-bag egg that has some negitive reviews. It even comes with a little paphlet on how to use it and what each color means and how to chane the beading/clothing if needed. Anyway I think it's great it seems to do what it says and it also doubles as a night light which will come in handy!

absolutely fabulous, tells the temperature and colour codes what you see; lemon light is room-perfect, orange/ red means the room is too hot, blue means it is too cold for the baby. only thing about the night light glow is that is seems quite bright and therefore tends to disturb my twins. i have mastered a solution by putting the egg under one of the cots; for me it is a quick guide to room temperature and thereby gives just enough light that i can see if they are happy and asleep.
WONDERFUL PRODUCT! Why didn't I think of it first!! ;-)
